Yoe today, gone tomorrow

-------------------------
Well, we WERE so hip until our throne was usurped by skull hoodies, Dita Von Teese and Marilyn Manson, until they get booted for the next hip spotting. But to be hip for a week on Yoe.com is to be hip forever.

Thank you Craig Yoe and Clizia Gussoni, for coming to see Chi-Pig in Kent, and for telling the world how hip you think we are.

Yo, Chi-Pig fans: check out www.yoe.com for the hip and creative work they do.

Coming soon: Dirt from Akron!

click on photo to view larger image

Debbie Smith dug this dirt up at her mother's house. Wish we had a picture of that.

Dirt from Akron? What does this mean? Is this going to be a new gossip column? An environmental expose? The transposition of Transylvanian sleeping soil?

Stay tuned. All to be revealed here soon about "Dirt from Akron."

rhythm section extraordinaire dressed to impress

My favorite drummer looking most dapper, and my favorite bassist looking fabulous as she updates her Carmen Miranda look-- at Selma's 80th some time after the birthday girl sang "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen" and before . . . cake. Paah-Tay!

Last Scene At......

Dear All,
Guess where Chi-Pig was last seen? Socializing at Selma's 80th birthday bash last weekend. You will recall, of course, Selma's video debut in the DEVO "Satisfaction" video. Well, the woman can still belt it out.........
Other musical guests included Harvey & Dolli Gold (from Half Cleveland, Tin Huey) and Cindi & Jim Rudick (guest singer & cellist circa Lime Spider-The-Angels-Took-My-Racehorse-Away)
The rest is all mishpoke.
Love to all,

Chi-Pig Roots Week on PBS

Hello Chi-Pig fans and lovers of popular culture: For those of you who were not able to see us Live at the Library last week following the premiere of Phil Hoffman's excellent documentary, "If You're Not Dead, Play," you can catch the documentary this Wed, the 28th, on PBS Channels 45 & 49, from 8-9 p.m. No, sadly, we will not be in the studio playing live on the breaks, beggging for money--but what a good idea, huh? One solid hour of "Apu Api (Help Me)" featuring local public radio celebrities doing the Apu Dance?! Not this time!

The historian in me also wants to alert you all to the entire week of programming, including documentaries on Bob Dylan, The Beatles, pop and protest, and that formative decade of the 1960s-- a few of Chi-Pig's multifarious influences. Here is the link to the week's schedule: http://www.pbs4549.org/60sweek.htm
